Meet the Xtreme Owners

We have an amazing, dedicated team of certified coaches with several years of experience. All of our coaches are extremely skilled and work overtime to get their athletes to the next level. They truly care about the children they are working with and are not only great coaches but great role models.

Jessica Winters

Coach Jessica has been the coach of Upstate Elite Cheer since January 2021. Her mother, Coach Sarah, and she have been running the program out of the SportsPlex for almost a year and a half. She operates TeamSideline which is how our coaches communicate with all athletes at the SportsPlex. She handles all communications, the organization of competitions, and the credentialing of all coaches and volunteers for the cheerleading program. She also certified the program through the US All-Star Federation (USASF). Coach Jessica organizes every competition and all aspects of Cheerleading at the sportsplex. She has been a Varsity Cheer Coach at Belleville Henderson Central School for the past 9 years and a Modified Cheer Coach for 3 years. She was named the 2019 Frontier League Coach of the Year and her team has 4 Section III championships (2018, 2019, 2020, 2022) and are 3-time state qualifiers (2016, 2018, 2019). She has been the choreographer for all the competing teams she has coached. Coach Jessica was also a former NYS cheerleading judge for 5 years.

Shawn Maloney

Coach Maloney and his family are lifelong members of this community, and like him, they live and breathe soccer. He is an extremely driven soccer coach with a diverse coaching background; instilling enthusiasm, skills, and motivation to his soccer players of all ages over the past 15 years. Coach Maloney is the Head Coach for the Belleville Henderson Boys Varsity Soccer team and is currently known as the coach who has taken the team to incredible victories, both on and off the field. Under his direction for the past 6 years, the Varsity Boys Soccer Team has set multiple school records. During the past three seasons, Coach Maloney has led the team to 3 undefeated seasons (Class D schools during the regular season), earning Several Frontier League Championship Titles. This past season (2022) the team won their first Sectional Title as well as made it to the State Semifinals. Prior to arriving at Belleville, Coach Maloney was a former Assistant Coach of the Men’s Soccer Team at Jefferson Community College. He has also coached a wide array of both girls and boys teams at the YMCA for over 10 years and the NNYYSL league for over five years. He has extensive knowledge of the State Cup Process as well as the try out and game process for the Olympic Development Program (OPD), and he has had the privilege of chaperoning an Olympic Development Program Camp in New Jersey. Coach Maloney runs clinics and camps, often bringing in college coaches to help ignite the love of soccer to all of his players.

Sarah Sugden

Coach Sarah has been a coach at Upstate Elite Cheer since it started in 2021. She has also been a Varsity Cheer Coach at Belleville Henderson for 10 years. Her team has 4 Section III Championships and are 3-Time State Qualifiers. She has also received extensive training in concussion diagnosis, prevention, and therapy, especially in relation to sports injuries. Coach Sarah is the Owner and Audiologist of East Coast Audiology and Physical Therapy.

Kristine Maloney

Kristine Maloney has been organizing soccer leagues and tournaments and completing all registration paperwork for over 15 years. She knows everything when it comes to soccer, and helps facilitate and administrate soccer events. She also organizes all of the team jerseys, shirts, uniforms, equipment, and scheduling. She is extremely organized and will help run the Sportsplex.

Mark Sugden

Mark Sugden coached soccer at the YMCA for many years alongside Coach Maloney, and he also coached several years of softball. He has always been a very strong supporter of student-athletes and has a lot of experience organizing sporting events, especially for his 6 children. He is a CPA and keeps track of all of the financial records and book-keeping for the SportsPlex.
